Yesterday I was ambitious. Instead of simply meeting Mary and Sonnie at the rec center for our Tuesday night run, I decided to go to the gym an hour early and use the weight machines. I was nervous about going by myself, which is silly, but all the Frat boys, Sorority girls and strange machines can be intimidating. I ignored my fears of being made fun of and looking like a wimp, pushed on, and ended up doing a bunch of upper body exercises. Today, my shoulders and chest are killing me. I don't have the biggest chest, but every time I walk across the library I feel my boobs bouncing around boy, does it hurt. Sorry if that was too much information!
(Also, I have been using the website Kealy recommended, and it's really interesting to see how my diet aligns with their recommended servings. Like, even though I'm a vegetarian, I am always over on protein by about 10 grams and carbs by about 50. I'm not too concerned about this, since I'm not really trying to lose weight and instead want to build muscle, so extra protein is good. But I really don't see how I could cut my carb intake and still live a full and happy life. I don't think I want to live in a world where I can't have cereal for breakfast. Also, my calorie intake is pretty much right where it should be, so whatever.)
As for our run, it was okay - we didn't push ourselves too hard but we stuck to the track for just about an hour. I'm going to try to bust out another two mile run on Thursday night - wish me luck!
