I'm Back!

Hi Ladies and the Random Gent,
I know that I've been quiet on this blog, and I blamed it on my mysteriously injured knee, which made it painful to walk, never mind run. But as Sonnie pointed out to me, I am more than just my knee, and I could have been writing about the other fitness goals I've been working on. Like the fact that I can now do 15 real push ups in a row (I want to do 50), and all the stomach crunches I've been doing first thing in the morning, and yoga! Twice a week! (Well, usually.) At any rate, I seem to be back in the swing of things, with just a minor soreness in the knee area. So cheers to that!

Yesterday I went to the rec center with Mary and Sonnie, and we ran and walked on the upstairs track. After we warmed up, we jogged for ten minutes. Then we walked some more, and then we were going to jog another ten minutes, but we ended up pushing it to eleven and change because we were so close to doing a complete mile. And we did it! Which means I have officially run my first straight mile! True, I'm a bit behind the rest of y'all, but hey - I was excited! And out of breath. I need to work on breathing properly, and also slowing down. I start running faster and that means I'll start burning out sooner. Patience, Chrissy, patience.

I think you should time yourself running the mile. I bet you end up being pretty fast.
