5k or Bust indeed!

I wanted to name that blog this (5k or bust), but some peops apparently wanted to run a 5k back in 2005 and they beat us to it. Oh well. I am also nervous and excited about this fitness goal. I don't run. Ever. But it's so healthful and I like the idea of a manageable goal and that we're not going for a marathon right off the bat. Or is it right off the pavement? I hope to take some "before" photos of everyone and some photos as we get closer to our goal. Who knows--this could become the "Our 10k" blog someday. And maybe "our olympics." Okay, I won't get ahead of myself.

Another goal for this blog is to be able to share support and progress with all the participants, even if they aren't nearby (hi Jen!). Also, we can have our regimine posted here. Oh, and by the way, here's an outline of our training plan.

So does anyone want to pick a start date? No time like January 1st week or do we want to avoid the curse of the New Year's Resolution?

I think the second week of January fits best.

If we start now with the approaching xmas holiday with families, travel, etc. it might be hard to really get started and stay focused.

And the second week of January is better than the first week because by the second week life will have gone back to being whatever is normal for all.

yes. i plan on being hungover the first week of january. also, on the road returning from the promised land, aka new york.
