Sonnie's quickie mile inspired me to put the medal to the pedal (pedal to the medal? I have never understood that saying) and run at least two miles yesterday. I accomplished that goal, and I did it in 19 minutes and ten seconds! That is two miles under 10 minutes each! I felt pretty good the whole time, but just as I finished the second mile I got a bad stomach ache/cramp and had to stop. Oh, well. I hadn't run more than a mile and a half in a while, so I told myself that I'm easing back into things.
After running and cooling down, I hit the weight machines and worked out arms and legs for another 30 minutes. Also, I rode my bike to the gym and then the Kroger and walked my dog in the morning for about 40 minutes. Walking my dog counts as exercise because we walk fast and I'm usually a little out of breath. When Nathan is here, we amble and he usually drinks a beer, so I don't count that. When it's just me and Seamus? Zoom zoom zoom.
Hope everyone else is staying healthy and strong!

The expression is pedal to the metal, which means you push the gas pedal on a car all the way to the floor. You're flooring it! And you are! I'm so impressed and inspired. I gotta get back out there before I have to join the fatzilla experiment.
whoa!
you are starting to look like a gazelle. :)
ha! i knew it was "metal" but wasn't sure the order of the phrase. because you can push the pedal to the metal (flooring it) or you could also put a hunk of metal on the pedal, which would also push it down.
thanks for setting me straight!
