gimp along

I wish I had a video of me waking up this morning and getting out of bed. I hobbled all the way to the shower. Thank goodness for hot water on sore muscles. It's been a while since I've done step aerobics, y'all. :)

rain makes me sleepy

Yesterday was a tough day to muster up the energy to go to the gym. Around lunch time I grabbed my gym bag to change into my work out clothes. As I walked towards the restroom I did a complete u-turn to look out my work building's glass doors. Yeah...*sigh*...it was still raining.

So, in a split second I think to myself..."I'll just go after work instead." And then I go towards my office only to do another u-turn and think to myself... "just go to the damn gym!"

Once again I head towards the restroom and this time I successfully changed into my work out gear. I head back to my office to grab my SFA I.D.

AAAAAAARGH!!!

No I.D. *sigh*

I call K at home (he was feeling ill and took a sick day) and ask him to check my jean pockets that I wore on Saturday and he found my SFA I.D. and my driver's license. I go home for lunch so I can retrieve my I.D.s, eat lunch, kiss the hubby, and scratch all the animals behind their ears.

Back to work.

I finally did go to the gym after work. And once again it was so hard to make myself. I had a terrible headache all day and still have residual headache today. However, I still managed to walk/jog for 30 minutes. I ran one mile in 10 min and 26 sec. I then did resistance training for the upper body for 30 minutes.

I went home and found out that K was feeling too puny to walk the dogs so I went back outside with them and walked the dogs for 45 min. I was pretty tired afterwards but felt a lot better than I did before I had started to exercise.

Muchas gracias, Jen!

I love the coasters! This one is my favorite. It looks great with my favorite vase and my handmade coffee mug.

zoom zoom

Sonnie's quickie mile inspired me to put the medal to the pedal (pedal to the medal? I have never understood that saying) and run at least two miles yesterday. I accomplished that goal, and I did it in 19 minutes and ten seconds! That is two miles under 10 minutes each! I felt pretty good the whole time, but just as I finished the second mile I got a bad stomach ache/cramp and had to stop. Oh, well. I hadn't run more than a mile and a half in a while, so I told myself that I'm easing back into things.

After running and cooling down, I hit the weight machines and worked out arms and legs for another 30 minutes. Also, I rode my bike to the gym and then the Kroger and walked my dog in the morning for about 40 minutes. Walking my dog counts as exercise because we walk fast and I'm usually a little out of breath. When Nathan is here, we amble and he usually drinks a beer, so I don't count that. When it's just me and Seamus? Zoom zoom zoom.

Hope everyone else is staying healthy and strong!

Saturday

I cannot remember what's the fastest I have ever run a mile in, but today I did it in 9 min and 37 sec. That's only because I was running behind my 15 year old long legged cousin. Today was the fastest she'd ever run her mile because I was behind her the whole time chasing her. Heh. How about that?

I'm too old to be chasing after 15 year olds on the track. *lol*

We ended our track time in the racquetball court and played for quite a while. It was a good work out day.

doin' it like ll cool j

hello? *tap tap* is this thing on?

ahem...

I have been doing...but not doing well...just doing...

Monday: walked the dogs...it's been so hot during my lunch hour when i go to visit the pooches but i still take them for a 30 minute walk.

Tuesday: met up with chrissy at the rec center...jogged one mile with success...the second mile didn't go down as i had hoped...overall, though, i was on the track for one hour and 30 minutes.

Wednesday: went to the rec center during my lunch hour and ran 2 slow miles...took me 25 minutes...but that's okay...nice and slow got me to where i was headed. weight lifted for my upper body for 25 minutes.

hubby had to work until 6-ish so i went home and walked the dogs for 35 minutes.

Thursday: went to the rec center during my lunch hour and did 50 min on the elliptical trainer.

**I feel good this week. Feeling a bit tired but I'm trying to get myself back into the game of doing and doing it well.
